Randall –
I work mostly outside 5 days a week and within my first month, the bottom layer of rubber sole started separating from the shoe on multiple spots on both shoes. Im glad I was able to file a warranty claim so hopefully the next boots I get will be better made.
HavocMan –
Junk. I bought these on June 2, 2023. I’m writing this review on September 15, 2023. A few days ago I realized that these shoes are already wrecked. The cushion in the left shoe is “flat”. My left heel has no cushioning under it and the shoe wheezes like a dog’s toy every step I take. Garbage. Complete garbage. I CAN’T WAIT for my new boots from NICK’S to show up. USA 100%

The left shoe fits weird on the top of my foot can only wear it for a couple hrs than I have to put on my old work shoes

From about the ball of the foot forward, the shoe feels a bit too restrictive and tight. Part of this is the shoes natural inclination to lace tighter. I find that if I loosen the bottom laces and re-tighten the top the shoes feel less confined around the toes. It’s a heavier shoe but I quickly adjusted. It feels like it is built to at least endure a rough season.

Good shoes. Well built. Quality leather. Heavy though.
They look good. I wear them in a mixed office/shop environment.
Expensive. If they last a few years (as keen usually does) I find value.

I have bought these shoes for the last 2 years and loved them. However, I am not happy that they redesigned them. They changed the toe to a narrower steel toe and changed the tread pattern from a more aggressive pattern to more of an indoor pattern. I ended up returning then and getting the Atlanta Cool model because it’s closest to what the Detroit Lows use to be

Felt a little big but it is not a big difference. I wear these shoes just about everyday at work and walk 2-3 miles a day in them. They are wearing great. Highly, recommend these if your going to be on your feet all day in a warehouse setting.

Too heavy

good work shoe

Instep is too shallow, lace opening can’t even close far enough to lap over tongue causing loose feel and lack of support.

We are required to test our ESD shoes prior to starting work. These shoes consistently failed. I spoke to other employees with Keen ESD shoes, they had the same problem.

I bought the first pair of safety toe Keens around five years ago because when I tried them on my feet felt like the had found a solemate. I’ve bought four pair since then and they have all been not more than functional, mediocre. I’m sure that the design change was due to some sort of cost saving initiative, but a love connection was lost in the process.

These are pretty solid work shoes. I have had a pair now for a few years and they are still going strong. My work gives us all an allowance for work shoes/boots and I bought another pair of these because they’re so dependable. But to be honest, the pair I currently have don’t really need replacing yet. They’re still holding up just fine. No tears, rips, or weak points. The leather is thick and has held up very well over the years. The tread is wearing slowly as well. On top of all that, they are comfortable. These have a lot of years of service left in them. I think the only way these can be improved is by reducing the weight. They are a little heavy on my feet, which can be attributed to the steel toe. If these were composite toe, they would be a perfect work shoe.

Exactly what I wanted, comfortable shoe I can wear at work or at home. Meets all work requirements, steel toe, ESD, oil-resistant sole.
Thomas B –
Wide steel toe shoe – too tight at toe box front on shoe. Because its steel toe, its not going to break in, like my other Keen shoes do. It creates pressure points near toes and is uncomfortable.
I applaud Keen for making large, wide safety shoes, but these are not good for long periods of time

Great shoes!
