Zero break in time. Very good quality and comfort. Watch out! They definitely run a half size large. Had to return and get a 10.5 and I’ve been an 11 in every shoe/sneaker/boot for decades…. Very pleased with this purchase.
Bob –
Great shoes. Went a half size smaller based on reviews however returned as i find they are true to size. Light work boots!

These are very comfortable boots. Though I have to use my own custom made insoles, the ones provided look like they would be equally comfortable.
They do run a little on the large side. I ordered a half size smaller than normal.
My only complaint would be the lack of eye hooks instead of holes. They have to be loosened a great deal for my foot to enter.

Having a slightly wider foot, it can be difficult to find footwear. Not impossible, but challenging. Like most people I’ve come to learn that there are brands that work and that there are brands that don’t. Keen, is a brand that routinely fits and fits well – these boots are no different. The toe box is wide but not too wide – the Goldilocks of widths, at least for me. The boots over the past two weeks of daily wear fit well, have shown minimal if any signs of stretch, are supremely comfortable on concrete, but give enough pedal feel while driving that you don’t inadvertently slam on the breaks (looking at you, Redwing…) and look good with jeans and chinos both.

This was the one. Lightweight and comfortable right out of the box. After reading the other reviews I was still pleasantly surprised at how soft this boot was out of the box. Keen always has a generous toe box which is great with my wider feet. Did not need to order the EE as the D fit perfectly.
The lightweight sole and comfortable foot bed have made the first couple days of wear enjoyable. Will keep an eye on the durability but so far very pleased.

I ordered this boots after reading a recommendation from Handyman magazine where they were described as a very comfortable work boot. I can attest to that description. I ordered these Keens along with a pair of Irish Setter boots (the Ashby) in order to compare. I chose the Keens because they were super comfortable–with a nice snug fit. The Ashby felt a little sloppy–they had 5 eyelets per side, the Keen had 7.

Love the look of these, but sadly, they are definitely *not* waterproof. Got caught in the rain and my feet were soaked after about 15 minutes.

Nice looking boot. Well made with quality leather. Lightweight. Comfortable from the start, but I bet it gets more comfortable after breaking in.
Size: I typically wear an 11 Wide and ordered a 10-1/2 EE after reading the reviews. The 10-1/2 fits perfect, although I wouldn’t want it to be any shorter. The EE width fits good, but could be a tad wider. I’ll keep them.
One negative: The tongue seems to migrate to the outside on both boots. Not a big deal, but a little stitching in the proper place could eliminate this issue.
Norm –
Excellent boots, like all the Keen products i have ever gotten. Fit is as expected, perfect. These boots are very light wieght for this style of boot. Extremely comfortable, felt broke in from day one.

They felt like slippers after about a day. Walk to work and on my feet all day.

Very pleased with this boot. I ordered a wide boot because I have an issue with my left foot (medical) but I can tell you that if you are normally between a D and EE go with the D. This is a really wide EE. For me though, super comfortable. Very lightweight. If you want a boot to keep your feet warm I. The cold months this is NOT the boot. Keen makes plenty of insulated boots. This one is leather and that’s a good thing. It means your foot will breathe.
Build quality is excellent and super light. Incredibly comfortable right out of the box. NO BREAK IN REQUIRED.
Donnie –
fit great right out of box have worn every day to work have several pair of keen shoes and this pair will be one of my favorite

This is a nice boot! It saddens me that the fit was a little wide, and had to return them.

One word says it all…. terrible. One of the most uncomfortable boots I’ve ever tried. Wide width is made for maybe Sasquatch’s foot. Ridiculously wide. There is absolute no arch support. Lighter than most work boots? Really? Maybe 5% lighter. I compare this with a Carthardt boot that looks almost identical but is a bit heavy. Lastly the boots design causes the top of the foot area to bite into the top of your foot when the boot flexes. Boot also looks like something Herman Monster from the Monsters would wear. This boot is just terrible. And how does it receive so many high reviews? Hmmm. I wonder.

First, I’ll be clear that I ordered these for everyday wear. Not for any type of utility or other work. Other reviews said they are not great for those purposes and I can see what they mean. They’re very comfortable and sturdy, but as a normal casual boot. Not for the wear and tear that comes with construction or other heavy labor. As for my purposes, they’re great!!! Better than I expected, actually. They not only feel great on my arches but my whole foot feels nice and stable. I like the wedge sole on these because boots with even a slight heel don’t feel good to me. I’m only 33 but I feel like my feet have changed very quickly in the last five years or so and I absolutely cannot wear shoes that don’t have good shock absorption. I also have a funky knee that I have to be careful about. With these boots I can walk all around town without the sidewalks beating up my feet and legs. I’ve only had the boots for a week so I can’t yet speak on wear and tear, but they feel well made and durable. There was little break-in needed and by the second day they felt really nice. The leather is fairly soft to begin with so it doesn’t take much time for it to be pliable. (I will note that I added a bit of leather balm to them on the first day because the black leather was a bit dull and matte looking to me. I wanted to make it look deeper and bring out the texture. But of course that can make break in time go quicker.) As for the toe box, they feel great. I always wear a regular width except in dress shoes but I’d say my feet are on the wider side of “normal”. If you mostly/always wear wide shoes, order the wide width. But if you’re like me and you feel good in regular width most/all of the time, the regular will probably feel just fine. The shape of the toe box helps with that. As for size, I ordered what I wear in all my shoes and they feel perfect. This is my first pair of Keen so I had to rely on reviews about size, but in my case they feel true. Lastly, the sole feels like it has pretty good grip. I haven’t faced any rain since I’ve had them but I’ve walked on some slippery flooring and other surfaces and the boots gave me good grip.

I purchased these shoes to use for work. It took a couple of days to break them in as they were rubbing against my toes at first. Once they were broken in they felt fine with one very uncomfortable exception. After a few days of wearing them, the tongue became very soft which made the laces feel very tight. I am constantly moving and need my shoes to fit snugly on my feet. The issue with the tongue and my laces made to top of my feet begin and ache and swell. I finished my shift limping and ended up tossing the boots directly into my truck (I’m a garbage man). I was very disappointed because I had never had an experience like this with any Keen products and these boots weren’t cheap. Perhaps adding more cushion to the outer part of the boot would help remedy the problem.

Shoes feel great, I’m just having a bit of ankle rubbing on both outside ankles.

Fits really good on wide feet. Midsole molds to your feet. They look great.

Shoes feel good, had to break in a bit they rubbed my ankles. I was disappointed to find the Chinese liner material in the toe, I hate it , makes my feet sweat, so I seek out shoes that are just unlined leather. Also they don’t seem to be a tough shoe, probably best suited for a supervisor not an actual laborer.
Mike –
They are extremely lightweight, great looks and a roomy toe box. Great support and padding. The length and width everywhere is perfect except it’s really stiff on my left midway down the boot, not the boots fault. It’s also very stiff where the horizontal stitching and vertical stitching meet toward the toe. After two days it’s gotten better. Speed lace eyelets on the top two would be nice too. Pictured is where there’s a lot of discomfort.

First off, great looking boot in person, i almost didn’t want to wear them to work. I’m a trim carpenter so I’m on my feet constantly moving and need a light comfortable boot. These did the trick. Now to get a 2nd pair.

Sturdy & stylish! Great boot
Drew –
First time I have purchased a “wide” shoe. I do a lot of walking at my job, and wanted something that would be comfortable and stylish. These cover both of those items. I have got several compliments in the first couple days of wearing them.
Anonymous –
First, let me say that I’ve only just received the boots and worn them just a few times. So, factor that into this review. I have purchased Keen shoes for about 15 years and had mixed results. Generally I can rely on them being good looking and stylish but comfort and durability can be less than desirable. So… I was a little cautious about purchasing these boots but the reviews were good. I can confirm that these boots are good looking and true to size, with the bonus of having a pretty roomy toe section which surprised me and I’m very happy about. I purchased the medium width and have a narrow foot, so I didn’t anticipate a problem but there is more room in the toe and that lends to their comfort. The leather is very soft and comfortable and so is the sole of the boot. Again, I don’t know how these will wear over time but I’m very happy as it stands.
Another nice thing is the tongue loop that the laces go through to prevent the tongue from slipping to the left or right. By contrast, I purchased a steel toed Timberland boot and the tongue will NOT stay in front of my shin. It is annoying. One step and it is off to the side and the laces go against my shin. I have had no such issues with these boots and unlike the Timberland boots, these are light and comfortable (though these do not have steel toes).
I purchased these boots for working in my woodworking shop and think they are absolutely perfect for that and I couldn’t be happier.

Great boots?
