Laura S –
I purchased these boots because the claim is that they offer a wide toe box. Not true. Ive avoided tight shoes my whole life and my feet bones are naturally spread which allows me to walk barefoot comfortably. I need a work boot as im a landscaper/home remodeler and unfortunately, these wont work. Ive returned them. They are pretty tho. 🙂

Love them!

Wearing it as a professional work shoe and its so comfy

Just received and wore the Keen San Jose for 4 hours straight right out of the box for a landscaping job. No break-in time needed. Roomy toe box keeps the foot cool. Accommodates thicker and thinner socks without heal rub. The shaft is low cut enough that it prevents any lower shin irritation with repeated bending, crouching. Laces are grippy and stay tied. Sole doesn’t pick up too much mud, but still slip resistant. My only complaint is that the arch support could be bigger (Carhartt 6″ wedge work boot has amazing arch support, but the boots are toooo heavy). Even so, I had no foot fatigue at the end of the day. It’s hard to find women’s soft toe work boots in smaller sizes. This was true to fit for street shoe size, and I recommend for those ladies who have trouble finding smaller sizes.

Awesome comfort for many hours of work standing on cement floor!

I bought these to work in a greenhouse where I stand, walk, and work on concrete all day. They are sturdy and seem durable, but still light weight. I wanted nonslip and these handled slime and water on concrete well so far. I like the material (leather…?) though I wish the material was labeled-they seem water resistant enough so far, but I will probably add a leather conditioner/wax at some point. Spacious toe box, could use a little more arch support on the insole, but overall a good comfortable fit. I bought a size 11 and they do look pretty big on my feet, but a spacious toe box is worth it. I wore thick socks the first day and took it easy, and came home with a few red spots on my heels, but no blisters yet. Pretty good right out of the box, and will need minimal break in from me. Classic style and good lightweight women’s work-boot.

The fit is just right. They are comfortable and stylish for work and with jeans. Thank you!

NIce boots.
Pros:
Roomy toe box in both width and height.
Nicely designed bellows tongue that stays in place.
Sturdy, supple leather, virtually no breaking in needed.
Comfortable, flexible but substantial sole.
Easily accommodates a custom or commercial orthotic.
Good fit overall.
Cons:
The entire front portion and area around the heel are lined with synthetic fabric, not unlined as described. The tongue and around the ankles are the only unlined parts.
The heel counter (heel stiffener) could have a more anatomical shape. It’s pretty straight sided, not curved like most feet and comes up a bit too high on the outside, where several seams are stitched together. I had to hammer that area to soften it up – with less bony feet and thick socks this would likely not be a problem.
Because it doesn’t curve inward much above the heel, there is a little up and down movement unless the boot is very securely tied, causing socks to creep down into the boot. Thicker socks work better and this may resolve as the boot wears in more, and this also may only be an issue with bony feet.
Overall this is a very comfortable and nicely made boot and despite the lining, with the roomy toe box it feels cooler than many boots. The medium size is generously wide (I added an insole under my custom orthotic), so I’m guessing the wide size will accommodate feet that will struggle to fit into any other boots.

I needed a good pair of boots for working a large garden. These seemed to fit my needs until I pulled them out of the box. Not even worth trying on as they appeared to be at least a whole size larger…soles almost two inches beyond my toes! Hated to send them back and have no idea what size I would wear in this boot. Usually a Size 6 or Size 6.5 in a pointed toe heel. (I ordered a Size 6.5 in order to fit heavy thick socks.)

Looked like clown boots. I ordered the women’s 8.5 and I had to double check the size on the boot to make sure they were not mens! I didn’t even try them on, looked gigantic and almost misshaped because the toe was so big compared to the heel of the boot

seems comfy, just got, will update as I wear. not much support/padding on sole, so I’m gonna see if feet hurt right away. seem well made, like they would last.

I returned them, because they were too heavy.

No cushion, and the instep wasn’t high enough.

A good looking and well made boot, but fit 1 whole size large.

They’re perfect! So nice, so comfy, so good for any weather/job/conditions.

I ordered my usual size (7) in the medium width. It has a nice big roomy toe box. I normally wear thin socks but can wear thicker ones on colder days without my feet getting all claustrophobic. They were pretty comfy straight out of the box – just a little stiffness around ankle that broke in quickly. I like the flat style sole for being on a ladder. Laces even stay tied all day!

Zappos gave me their recommended size and I wish I had listened. These run a half size large for sure, so I returned the 7.5 for a 7. I am a solid 7.5 and the 7 fits me perfectly. I have other Keen shoes that are 7.5 so I thought these would be the same, but I see the other reviews and now see that they run a half size large for some folks. I put in some good insoles for arch support, and they fit great with thick boot socks. If you are familiar with Keen you know they have a roomy toe box and these are no different. I love that, even though I don’t have wide feet. I have narrow heels and these still work me. Once the leather is broken in they’ll be amazing. I plan to use them for indoor home repair jobs, getting on a ladder a lot, doing electrical work, and doing landscaping work at home. Nothing professional but I can tell these would be great for any profession in those fields. Comparable to Red Wing but two thirds of the cost.

I actually like these boots everything about them is great. I never wore them to work. I put them on I have shoe inserts they fit great even with the inserts I got a 10 wide for that purpose. So I put them on walk out to head to work. Walked right back inside and took them off. The boots are heavy and walking to deliver packages, too heavy for the average 12k steps.

I ordered 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear. Keens seem to always run large for me. I really could have dropped another 1/2 size -if I was keeping these. They are quite wide (keen is usually a bit wide for me) while was impressed with these, I ultimately returned them to keep the carhartt boot.

For all the Amazon drivers here to redeem their free shoes, I personally love these and wear them to work every day. Lightweight and super comfortable. They were out of stock in my size this year so I tried out a different shoe by carhartt…they don’t hold a candle to my keens. Will be returning the carhartts and waiting until these are back in stock in my size. Current pair I have has lasted me 2 years of Amazon delivery!!

I really had a hard time returning these boots! I love their cinnamon brown color and the wide width was perfect, but I have an arthritic bone spur at the top of my very high instep. I took a chance on this lace-up design, but, alas, I cannot wear them. 🙁
Thank you KEEN for making these short and wide boots, though. I’m sure many people will love them!

I am outside on my feet all day working on my horse farm in New Hampshire. I have tried dozens of pairs of boots and this is the first pair that are comfortable all day long. The square toe box allows my toes to move, keeping them warm without heavy socks. I am thinking of buying a second pair in case you change this boot in any way in the future.
Carlee B –
I ended up keeping them and buying insoles for brand new shoes. For the price I thought they would feel better.
Susan H –
It is comfortable and well made. I would prefer a slightly higher upper but the a personal choice. Overall, a ver good boot.

Day one was a little break in, by day 2 my feet were in heaven! Most comfortable work boot yet Ive tried!!
